As a potential LNG supplier to Europe, Mozambique opens its first export facility

The northern province of Cabo Delgado in Mozambique has announced that it will begin exporting liquefied natural gas (LNG) in October from the Coral South field, off the coast of the Palma district.

Mozambique is poised to ship its first shipment of liquefied natural gas abroad, joining the ranks of the world’s exporters as fuel prices reach an all-time high as a result of a worldwide energy shortfall.

Estimates indicate that the initial production might boost the nation’s economic growth in 2023 by an additional 1.1 percentage points.
