Senior HSE Advisor

COMSIP is currently looking for a Senior HSE Advisor, for a 12 months mission based in Adrar, Algeria, starting in September. (Rotation 4*4)

YOUR MISSION

  • You provide HSE management system support to ensure the highest Health and Safety standards are met; legislation complied with, improvement programs identified and designed based on a cultural drive for continuous improvement.
  • This position demands advanced knowledge and proven expertise in a technical/professional discipline, based on:
    • Adoption of a systems based approach to solution development
    • Skilful coordination of inputs from various information sources
    • Creative analytical techniques in order to identify trends and design of effective solutions
    • Ability to prepare strategic and tactical plans for the subsequent implementation
  • You provide proactive support to the Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) Leadership and Facility Personnel in order to support a culture of continuous improvement in HSE performance across the Organisation.

YOUR ACTIVITIES

  • Accountable for the active monitoring and update of the HSE management system, ensuring alignment with applicable legislation, Joint Venture (JV) HSE policy and practices and local requirements
  • Facilitate the risk management process on behalf of the Organisation
  • Support the HSE Director to create and manage the effective delivery of the progressive strategic and tactical HSE improvement plans
  • Integration of the various HSE systems; Synergi, Global Operating Integrity Management Standard (GOIMS), PTW etc. including effective support thereof including associated training and system support
  • Design and management of the HSE performance processes, including analysis of the resulting ‘big data’ and creation of improvement strategies to address identified weaknesses and opportunities
  • Ownership of the HSE competency framework and associated support processes for the Organisation
  • Design and monitoring of the HSE audit and inspection program for onsite and offsite facilities
  • Coordination of the HSE learning sources and cascade of the relevant learnings throughout the Organisation
  • Preparation of performance reporting to fulfill the requirements of the JV Partners and identified Stakeholders

YOUR PROFILE

  • You hold a Bachelor Degree in Science/Engineering or equivalent with additional professional qualifications in HSE
  • You have a solid career background in Operations or HSE in hydrocarbon processing plants
  • You are an experienced leader / manager
  • You have an advanced knowledge of upstream oil and gas processing
  • You have a working knowledge of process risk identification and management and process safety principles
  • You have strong knowledge and experience of HSE management systems, incident management and HSE audit processes
  • Languages: English and French mandatory; with Arabic being an advantage for this role
  • Passion, drive and commitment for HSE performance excellence
  • Excellent diplomacy, interpersonal and relationship building skills
